If you’re a golfer, there’s a very good chance this is your favorite time of year—even if there’s snow on the ground and your clubs haven’t seen grass in months.
Why? Because everything starts to come alive right now.
New Gear Season Is Here
Every winter, golf manufacturers roll out their latest and greatest equipment. New drivers promise more speed, irons claim better feel, and putters swear they’ll finally fix your three-putts. Along with the gear comes the full force of marketing budgets—cinematic commercials, tour-player testimonials, and launch videos that make you believe this next club might be the one.
Even if you don’t buy immediately, there’s something undeniably exciting about seeing innovation hit the market. It sparks curiosity, conversation, and just enough optimism to get you thinking about how good golf could feel this year.
Professional Golf Is Back on TV
The PGA Tour kicking back into gear brings structure to the golf calendar again. Weekly tournaments give us something to watch, analyze, and argue about—who’s swinging it best, who’s struggling, and which trends might trickle down into our own games.
And now, with TGL lighting up Tuesday nights, golf has found a new lane. Faster-paced, team-driven, tech-forward—it’s different, and that’s a good thing. It keeps golf front and center even when we can’t tee it up outdoors.
The First Tee is here for you, The Great Indoors!
While winter limits where we can play, it doesn’t limit how much we can prepare. Indoor golf becomes more than just a substitute—it’s a place to work, test, and improve without weather getting in the way.
This time of year is about intention. Golfers start practicing with purpose again. Swing changes feel fresh. Goals get written down. Breaking 100, lowering a handicap, hitting it farther—whatever the target, winter is when it starts.
Lesson start to ramp up. Club Fitting starts to get busy and weekends are for playing golf with buddies even when you’re indoors!
The Build-Up to Spring Is the Real Magic
Spring golf wouldn’t feel as special without this stretch beforehand. The anticipation is half the fun. You imagine that first round back outside. The smell of fresh grass. The optimism on the first tee before reality sets in on hole three.
This season is about belief—believing this could be your year.
So is this the best time of year for golfers?
It might be.
New equipment. Golf back on TV. A fresh way to watch the game. Indoor practice fuelling improvement. And that quiet confidence that when spring finally arrives, you’ll be ready.
Now the question is simple: What are you doing this offseason to make sure this year is different?
